A recent study published recently in Human Performance found that physical attractiveness may play as much of a role as personality in how frequently people are bullied in the workplace.
The results show that a person's looks were just as instrumental if not more so than personality in determining how a co-worker would be treated. The researchers had hoped that their findings would help identify at-risk employees. But instead, they found that when it comes to bullying in the workplace, people can be just as petty about non-essential issues as middle school students.
In fact, it is not uncommon to find office mean girls, bullying bosses, cyberbullying and even relational aggression in the workplace.
