If you do the math that would be $104,400 a year. It must be noted that software engineers are in hot demand so interns get a typically higher salary. It's an extremely competitive career and all the top tech companies have to compete for the same elite pool of candidates. If you compare Facebook to one of its competitors, Google, the average software engineer intern gets paid $5,991 a month. Similar intern salaries are true for other tech giants including Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo, Intuit and Dell.
