For many people, the idea of cooking seems foreign. If you never really learned, it is a daunting challenge. Learning new things is tough and it's easier to just avoid thinking about it. After all, there are so many great restaurants in the world!

The thing about frozen desserts that is great for new cooks is that there are so many simple recipes that only require a few ingredients. Starting with a few basic recipes will help a new cook build confidence. Plus, many of these basic recipes are easy to adapt and change, so you can practice tasting and updating recipes for your preferences.

If you are a new cook, start slowly. Check out a three-ingredient recipe, such as lemon granitas. Or, buy your dessert and add homemade sauces and toppings. Sometimes a little homemade detail, like a fresh cherry sauce, is a great way to personalize a dessert.
