New Ice Cream Makers

It's a new year, are you ready to cook more? Although I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions (I think that we should take every day as an opportunity to improve ourselves), I do try to have some sort of project or goal that I am working towards at all times. For the last six months, one of my biggest goals was to try a new recipe every at least once a week. Like many busy families, we had gotten into a bit of a rut with meals, snacks, and desserts. So I decided to make it a priority to experiment with new things.

If you want to start making more of your food from scratch in 2013, why not include your frozen desserts? There are several types of ice cream makers that you can pick up for your home. That way, you know your family is eating real food with ingredients they can pronounce (you can even sneak some fruit in there).

Or, if you aren't quite ready to try making ice cream or sorbet, why not start with popsicles? These frozen treats are literally the simplest dessert possible. You can pour just about any beverage into a popsicle mold and have it turn out wonderfully. If you've got a little extra champagne leftover from your New Year's Eve festivities, try making strawberry champagne popsicles. Adults only for this fun, frozen cocktail!
