Healthy Frozen Dessert Ideas

As we approach the end of January, there are already tons of people falling off the wagons with their New Year's resolutions. I always used to be one of them. In fact, I have battled the extra weight for most of my life. However, last year I started making major changes in my life. I've been losing weight, working out, and incorporating healthy habits into my daily life. How did I finally find something that works? I stopped depriving myself!

Just because you want to eat healthier doesn't mean you have to give up everything you love. Smaller portion sizes and healthier versions of favorites can still be incorporated. There are tons of healthy frozen dessert ideas that you can enjoy without the guilt. I love basing my desserts on ingredients like fresh fruit and Greek yogurt. You can even sneak extra vegetables into things like popsicles!

One ingredient that I've been experimenting with lately is coconut water. There are a lot of health benefits to the liquid that comes from a young coconut. It's got tons of potassium, which is important for our bodies to balance out all the excess sodium that we tend to consume. Coconut water is also a great foundation for my tropical fruit popsicle recipe. They are made of pineapple, mango, and coconut water, so you can feel good about eating them or feeding them to your family.

Most people quit on their diets because they aren't making choices they can live with for a lifetime. You can have a little dessert. After all, life should be enjoyed! Just don't eat a whole quart of ice cream at once.
