I've been putting together lists of my favorite molded frozen dessert lists on About.com (both my own and those from other guides). My last blog post included the first one, but I have two more additions to the list today. When I get on a roll, I get on a roll. First we have a list of ice cream cake recipes. You can buy your own ice cream cake, but why not make a special cake from scratch for the next birthday.
The other list is of semifreddo recipes. These Italian frozen mousse desserts do not require an ice cream freezer or any special equipment, so they are easy to put together. It can be molded into pans of any shape or size, including individual springform pans or muffin tins. I've seen adorable semifreddo that are frozen and served in teacups for a perfectly cute presentation. This one would be especially good for a mocha recipe!
