September is Blueberry Popsicle Month

Yup, you read that right. September is National Blueberry Popsicle Month. I'm not sure who comes up with all these weird holidays either, but I think we can all agree that the frozen dessert ones are worth celebrating. After all, who doesn't love a good popsicle? If you are looking for an excellent recipe idea, try my blueberry pomegranate popsicles that use fresh berries and pomegranate juice to make a sweet and tangy dessert.

If you haven't made your own ice pops before, this is a great time to try. It's one of the easiest homemade frozen desserts to put together and you don't need to spend a ton of money on ingredients. Check out some tips for making homemade ice pops to get you started.

If you don't like pomegranate or just want to use up things you have in the freezer, design your own blueberry popsicles using these popsicle flavor ideas. Blueberries are delicious with orange juice and a few strawberries, or you can use apple or grape juice for a more neutral base. However you make them, homemade popsicles are a great way to get your family to eat more fruit. We won't tell the kids about all the antioxidants in blueberries.
