Texting while driving is never good. But receiving money-saving texts as you drive through the parking lots of the stores you visit most is an excellent deal. Thanks to the new AT&T Alerts system, you can collect such texts, since the program knows where you are at any given time, and can therefore send you money-saving text deals targeted exactly to where you are.
AT&T customers simply need to sign up on the Company's site to register, then reply to their initial text to allow them to track your location. After that, you simply drive to your favorite stores, and if the company has a corresponding deal, you'll get a text with the coupon or deal information before your car is even parked.
Other sites have similar deals, but they require you to install an app. For instance, I've been a member of Roximity for over a month now, and I think the app has excellent features, but I don't always have the app open on my phone. Since the AT&T Alerts system is based on my cell phone location, it's technically always "on."
Roximity has even partnered with Ford to provide location-based deals that notify Ford drivers through the cars' Sync Systems. The location-based deals offered using these relatively new programs could be the wave of the future, meaning that none of us will ever forget a coupon again.
