Refurbishing a Wooden Chair

This past weekend, my husband and I made a trek down to visit my family. One thing I love about my hometown is the abundance of thrift stores. On Saturday, my mom, grandma and I made our rounds to the local thrift stores in search of bargains. On our first stop, I found a nice, solid wooden sitting chair for only $5! The store was having their yearly beginning of fall 50% off sale event, so I actually ended up taking this gem home for only $2.50! I knew this chair would be perfect to add to our office, but it needed a bit of repair and definitely a paint job in a nice, vibrant color to match our decor. Over the next couple of days, I sanded, primed and painted the chair before adding it to our collection. Did you find any bargains this weekend? Do you have any great bargain find stories?
