Moving into a dorm this fall or wanting to switch out your home decor? Look for outdated or damaged indoor signs. A few months ago, I stumbled across an extremely cheap wall sign in the scratch and dent section of a local department store.
Instead of passing up the deal (or letting the sign sit in my closet for another six months), I decided to refurbish it. Since the sign wasn't really my style and also had some scratches, I decided to sand it, prime it and slap on a new coat of paint with some accompanying letter stencils.
