Kids are great at ignoring sometimes aren't they? Tell them to do the dishes and suddenly they don't hear you. However, they seem to develop bionic ears when it comes to a cell phone. The sound of an incoming text message can be heard four rooms away.
So how do you get your kids to listen when you tell them to do something? It can seem like an uphill battle to get them to do their homework and their chores, turn off the television or get out of bed in the morning.
There are some strategies parents can use to increase the likelihood that kids will not just listen, but will actually do what you tell them to do. There's no magic to it and it's not a secret. Instead, it is just a matter of taking some of the things you probably do already and just tweaking them a little.
Learn more about these strategies to get kids to listen. It's not a guarantee and certainly won't work every time. Kids aren't meant to be robots so there will still be times they do their own thing.
