I meet parents every week who are exhausted and overwhelmed because their children are out of control. Whether their kids are fighting, getting in trouble at school or even running away, they're not sure what to do.

Often, it starts out slowly. Maybe a parent gives in a little too much. Or maybe the parents are dealing with hard times, like a divorce or a financial crisis. During these times, it can feel easier to just give in. But, it's a slippery slope.

When parents get to this point, it's hard to regain control. It requires you to find energy when you feel like you have none. And to regain power when you're feeling powerless.

Unfortunately, some parents just want to give up. They resign themselves to having misbehaving children and feel helpless in regaining control over the household.

However, parents can find effective ways to deal with out of control kids. It's essential the emotional health and well-being for kids that parents are in charge and giving kids everything they need to become responsible adults.
