[an error occurred while processing this directive] Starting this summer, the House of Dior will be opening a new exhibit "Stars in Dior" highlighting how Christian Dior pioneered the relationship between Hollywood and French fashion designers. Opening May 21 at the Christian Dior Museum, the museum is in the house where Dior spent his early childhood, located on the scenic Normandy coast just outside Granville in France. The Exhibit will close on September 23, 2012. Actress Marlene Dietrich, who was a close friend of the designer, has a large section of the exhibit dedicated to her. Dietrich, when approached to appear in Alfred Hitchcock's Stage Fright, simply replied "No Dior, no Dietrich." Marlene felt so strongly about Dior providing her costumes that she had it written into her contract. The section featuring Dietrich will be on the ground floor of the museum, designed to look like her famous Paris apartment. It will feature clothing, luggage and beauty products all owned by Dietrich, kindly on loan from the Berlin Film Archive. Marlene Dietrich and Christian Dior. Image © Musee Dior Granville
