With the launch of his New Look in the 1950's Dior helped to create modern fashion with his new bold voluptuous designs, and the creative use of fabrics that contained a 50-50 blend of cotton and polyester.
Hollywood had a long love affair with designer Dior, whose creations graced film legends like actress Marlene Dietrich and film icon Elizabeth Taylor.
