Cherry Sauce

Did you know that January 3rd is National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day? Yeah, neither did I! I was surprised to find out that there were so many holidays dedicated to candy.

So, what can you do with frozen desserts to celebrate this delicious holiday? While you can certainly add some chocolate covered cherries to a big bowl of ice cream, I have another suggestion. Start by making a bowl of easy cherry sauce, using either fresh or frozen cherries (in January, you'll probably have better luck finding good frozen ones).

The next step is to make a big batch of homemade chocolate ice cream. Do you see where I'm going? Top a couple scoops of great chocolate ice cream with warm cherry sauce, and you have a delicious dessert to celebrate this classic candy.

How will you turn your favorite candy into ice cream?
