March is a month full of holidays. Not only is St. Patrick's Day a March holiday, but this year Easter falls before the end of the month as well. Plus, there are tons of fun holidays and celebrations that span the month. Three March holidays stand out as perfect opportunities for enjoying great ice cream and frozen desserts.

Did you know that March is National Frozen Foods Month? Celebrate by making a great new ice cream or frozen dessert recipe to enjoy the season. Try putting together homemade strawberry pomegranate Greek frozen yogurt, which is a delicious alternative to traditional ice cream and will get your ready for the next March holiday you should be celebrating.

March is also National Nutrition Month. This makes it a great time to check out some healthy frozen dessert ideas. After all, you can enjoy a sweet, frozen treat while giving your body plenty of the vitamins and minerals that it needs to function properly. Fresh fruit sorbets and homemade popsicles are great ways to have your dessert and stick to your diet. If you made it to March, you are doing better with your New Year's Resolution than most people!

The third fun March celebration is National Peanut Month. Peanuts are a popular topping idea for ice cream sundaes (at least among people that aren't allergic). If you don't have anyone with peanut allergies coming to your event, try using roughly chopped peanuts and using them for your ice cream sundae bar. Let your guests build their own sundaes with a great collection of sauces and toppings on a few basic ice cream flavors for a fun, interactive event.

Check out all the bizzare, unique, and fun March holidays.
