Homemade Whipped Cream

As I was putting together my raspberry chocolate chip semifreddo, I started thinking about all the ingredients. So many of the techniques and parts of the recipe are really common in frozen desserts. I'm going to take the extra cream, milk, and chocolate chips and make chocolate chip ice cream tomorrow. Raspberries make a perfect sauce. Cooking the eggs and milk into a custard is the same technique you'd use to make frozen custard. It is really a great recipe to demonstrate all that food has to offer.

I realized that I hadn't celebrated one of my favorite parts of dessert yet - homemade whipped cream. Now, I do love some store-bought whipped toppings (you know what I'm talking about, the one in the tub), but there is something special about making your own whipped cream. One of my favorite parts is the fact that it can be completely customized. I have a sweet tooth and love my whipped cream a little sweeter than other people might. If I make my own, I can do that! If you think it's always too sweet, you can change it too. How great is that?
