Most of the time, when I buy something from the baking aisle of the supermarket, I end up with leftovers. The bags never seem to be the right size! I've solved part of the problem by shopping in the bulk section as much as possible, but sometimes you just end up with more of something than you need. The other day, we learned how to make a semifreddo, which used chocolate chips. So now I have half a bag of these yummy morsels left and need to come up with something to make.
What did I decide on? Chocolate chip ice cream, of course! I love the contrast of the creamy vanilla ice cream and the crunchy chocolate chips. You can even get creative an experiment with different flavored baking chips. Ghirardelli makes a great mint chip that would be tasty in this recipe.
