Have you started planning your holiday meals yet? It might seem early, but I like to start planning Thanksgiving at the beginning of the month. I get my recipes and shopping lists together, so I can pick up items as I find them on sale or find great coupons for them. This means it is time to start thinking about my Thanksgiving desserts. I am a big fan of ice cream pie when I am entertaining, in large part because it is so easy! You can put together a great Thanksgiving pie with pumpkin ice cream. Top with sugared pecans and whipped cream for something special.
Another easy option is ice cream cake. I am thinking of doing something different with cake this year. What about a pumpkin spice cake layered with vanilla ice cream? Or, for that matter, pumpkin cake and pumpkin ice cream to double up the flavor. These things are so quick and easy to put together. Plus, they are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
