With the triathlon season nearing an end, and the weather getting cooler, it's time to start adding some weights and physical training into the mix. Here's a good workout, focusing on upper body, which is important for swimming):
- Warmup/stretch
- Max number of pushups, pullups, and dips in a row. Do four sets of this. Rest for 3 minutes in between sets.
- Wide-grip lat pulldowns: 3 x 15
- Regular-grip lat pulldowns: 3 x 15
- Reverse-grip lat pulldowns: 3 x 15
- 25 ab crunches
- Cooldown/stretch
