Tabouli with a Turkish Twist

Tabouli is a salad common in the Middle East made with fine bulgur wheat, chopped parsley, chopped tomatoes and other herbs and spices.

If you're a tabouli fan or you simply have lots of fresh herbs in your garden and don't know what to do with them, it's the perfect time to try my recipe for Turkish-style bulgur and fresh herb salad.

All you need are some simple ingredients like coarse bulgur or cracked wheat, assorted fresh herbs like dill weed and parsley, extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice. As bulgur more than doubles in quantity when you cook it, making lots of this salad is easy if you have a big crowd.

It looks lovely on the plate and it's wholesome flavor is sure to please. In fact, it's one of my good old stand-bys for entertaining.

Just serve it in a large, decorative bowl and garnish it with sprigs of fresh herbs and lemon slices. This salad goes well with grilled meats and chicken, and it's perfect for vegetarians and vegans, too.
