I don't know when creme caramel found it's way into Turkish cuisine. Most likely sometime during the late 1800's or early 1900's.
Since then, this dessert has worked it's way up the ladder to become one of Turkey's most common desserts. "Krem karamel" is found everywhere from school lunchrooms, factory cafeterias and military mess halls to dessert cafes, hotel menus and even the finest restaurant menus.
This dessert is rich, creamy and very simple to make. All you need are eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Once you have the basics down, you can begin to expiriment with different flavorings and garnishes like almonds, hazelnuts, fruits and more.
