QuestionEdit

Car came in my shop after being at different shop, new cam and crank sensor and computer.car has injector pulse but no fire to plug wires, checked coil driver wires at coil and no pulse.found bad wires under intake, repaired but still no fire to plugs

AnswerEdit

Hi Ronnie, If there is pulsing on the injectors then the rotational sensors are working and so there should be pulsing to the three coil driver wires. I would first verify that there is 12v on the dark green/orange 12v wire at the coil when cranking as that also is needed by the fuel injectors to work. If so, then see if you are getting pulsing on three coil driver wires that come from pins 17,18, and 19 of the PCM. If those all pass, Then check the primary winding of the coils to be 0.45 to 0.65 ohms, and secondary winding are 7,000 to 15,800 ohms by measuring between the coil towers. I can't suggest any other check but you might do a fault code readout using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then count the flashing of the check engine light and let me know the counts in the order of apperance. Please 'rate' my answer (see below). Thanks, Roland
