Question

i have a well cared for and maintained 04 cad deville...new tires, balanced and rotated routinely and newer brakes....

i however have always got a shake in the wheel at 64-74 miles per hour. can you help me find out why this is happening

Answer

Hello,

Here is what you are dealing with and what to consider-If the front suspension is tight the most common problem is a balance of the tires and you said you had that done. Has this vibration been there before you changed the tires, before you rotated them or are you chasing a problem that has existed for a long time? The second thing I would be looking at is the potential of a bad axle (CV) assembly. Possibly a bad engine or transmission mount. Please remember, I am not at the vehicle, so all I can do is give you ideas. I would have suggested a bad rim or tire, but it would be almost impossible for this to happen. I guess the biggest question is was this vibration here all along the tire process? If so, its what I suggested as other possibilities.

One other thought, I do not know if this has a shock in the steering known as a vibration dampner. If so, that would be the very first thing I would go for because it does exactly as described.

Please answer my question and please let me know how it turns out.
