120 volt

Question

I recently moved a treadmill, and am getting an error message at the new location. It has power. The treadmill says it is 120 VAC 60 hz. It is plugged into a standard house outlet. I can't figure out the solution, and wonder if the problem is that perhaps the house power is not sufficient to power the unit (110 vs. 120?)

Answer

110 volts and 120 is the same thing. Voltage is a measure of electrical pressure, and it varies from time to time, just like water pressure. 110 is the minimum and 120 is the maximum.

I would contact the treadmill company to see what the problem is.
