I have a issue with my 1994 Cadillac deville. When I wake up in the morning and go to work it starts just fine. When I stop for gas on my way to work or any where for that matter it cranks over 4 or 5 times very sluggish sometimes sounding as if the battery was near dead but only when hot I've found that when I let it cool down it starts rite up. I have a brand new Optima redtop 1000-CCA battery in it that should be more then capable of starting this car. Every time I have the battery checked the people say the battery is not charging to its full capacity and staying there but the battery and the alternator check out fine. I have to admit that I am stumped and so are every mechanic in the Tampa Bay area. I have spent thousands trying to get this fixed PLEASE HELP.
Hello,
My first concern is you say the engine is hot. If you run this engine over 220 degrees, you will be spending thousands more on that aluminum engine. These engines when over heating litterally melt and you will not find a good engine in a junk yard either. Head gaskets go first, heads, block etc.
Now, are ypu telling me this is a hot engine or a warmed up engine?
