QuestionEdit

How would you go about converting a whole house from 220 to 110? The house would be in the Philippines and they only use 220, so that is the source of power to the house.

AnswerEdit

I am not familiar with foreign electrical codes and practices. The assumption is that the whole house is wired for 220 volts and by moving there you want to convert certain appliances and devices. I am not sure if they allow you to convert the whole house and what the cost would be to do so. Those are questions for the local building authorities.

Depending on how many devices you need to convert, you may consider just using a converter for those particular devices.

If you are moving long term you might just want to purchase new devices. If you are going to be there short term you may consider renting the big items.
