QuestionEdit

I had to switch out 3 prong the plug in my LG dryer and installed a 4 prong plug. It is correctly installed, however, what I put in is 30 amps and 250 volts. I noticed in the owners manual that the company calls for 30 amps and 240 volts. Will that mess up the machine or cause and electrical fire? When I ran it the machine worked but I noticed a slight burning smell. How concerned should I be? Thank you so much.

AnswerEdit

There is no difference between 220 to 250 volts. Volts is a measure of pressure, and it varies depending on time of day, etc. Just like water pressure may vary depending on the time of day and other factors.

Hopefully the burning smell is caused by the newness of the machine. But it is not related to the voltage.
