QuestionEdit

Hello Ben, My issue is the generator I have has a 4 prong NEMA twistlock,240/120 volt outlet socket, and the mig welder I would like to use with this has a NEMA type 6-50p plug for 230 volt input. Is there an adapter,or will the generator need the outlet changed or will this just not work? I am sure the generator is large enough, just incompatable outlet. Thanks.

AnswerEdit

Dave

Leave the outlet on the generator as it is, you may have to use that someday. They make adapters also you can change the plug on the welder. You don't have a neutral in the welder,so that wire is not necessary. Just make sure you hook up the ground to the ground.
