I have a seth thomas banjo clock that recently had the movement replaced. It did not run prior. It works well, but I can't get the darn thing in plumb. For a 9-day movement, I can get about 3 at best before it stops. I'm nudging it all over the wall but can't seem to find that "sweet spot". HELP!! Suggestions??
The correct position will be the one where the beat sounds as even as possible, a balanced cadence between the "tick" and the "tock". If it fails to run a full week when in beat then there's something else causing the problem. Possibly not winding the clock fully or the pendulum lightly brushing the back wall of the case.
