Ceiling fan light fixture install

installing cielingfan with light fixture old light fixture was connected to wall switch the wires were disconnected by someone else.Does the switch lead go to hot or neutral want to be able to use fixture with switch

Gary,

    Where your old light came down, there should be a black wire that went to the light that would be by it self,  and there should be a single white or there may be 2 or 3 whites twisted together.
          You would take the fan wires put the white to the white or whites that are twisted in the ceiling box , then take the black from fan and there should be one marked light or it may be black with white stripes or it could be blue either way the other 2 wires go to the black in the ceiling box, any problems follow up with me ! Always turn off the power!
