Changing colours of cells

Question

I have put together a spreadsheet and I want to change a cell colour based upon a number. So in a cell if I put in a number between say 0- 12 it would then trigger something (a formula?) to then change particular cells to the appropriate colour, in this case it is green. So on 13 - 24 a different colour. Not sure how to do this or if it is possible.

use the format menu, and choose conditional formatting - you can manage up to 4 levels of colour in most versions of(3 with the conditions and one being the usual format of the cell when all conditions are false). Let me know if you need any help with this function.
