Collate printing

Question

Hello and My office recently converted from2003 to2007 (slow, I know, but that's our IT department). I seemed to have lost an important feature and I'm wondering if2007 still has it.

I often print multiple copies of multi page reports. in Excel 2003 I could set as a default the collate function so a 3 page report would print 123, 123. in Excel 2007 these reports are printing 11, 22, 33. I know that there is a collate click box in the print screen, but it seems to only pertain to one printing. That is, I don't see any way to make collating a default option.

Is collate default possible in 2007? And if it's not, could you speculate on why this option was removed? At least in my business I can't think of a situation where I would want to print all page 1s then all page 2s, etc. I would rather print multiple reports not multiple sheets.

Answer

Collate Option for2007 Printing

Try the following:

1. Office Button 2. Print 3. When the Print dialog box opens make sure Collate is checked (See image attached).

Good luck.

I am at a clients office where they haveExcel so I can't check the 07 version to see if there was a change in the collate function. However I do not remember any changes made in that area. It is a function that I very rarely use so it might be that a change was made and I am not aware of it. I suggest that you reask the question of another allexperts person and Im sure you can get a quicker answer.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help
