Converting Indoor Furniture for Outdoor

We are building an outdoor kitchen. To save money, I'd like to convert some indoor furniture to outdoor furniture. I already read your comments about pine. I was thinking about a combination of painting the furniture in drylock, then doing an outdoor paint, then tiling the top...what are your thoughts?

It may last a while, if you're finishing a solid wood piece, but interior furniture is made with interior glues, veneers,steel fasteners, etc... that does not lend itself to exterior exposure. What your proposing would also be a LOT of work, with no guarantee of longevity
