Do i need a main disconnect on my new 200 amp distribution panel

Question

An electrician did not install a main disconnect switch when he changed the 100 amp distribution to a 200 amp one. Should there be one?

Answer

All the power to the building needs to turned off with a maximum of 6 circuit breakers. If it takes more then 6 breakers to kill the power to your building (not Unit) then yes you need a main.
