QuestionEdit

Our church is building a multi-purpose building which contains classrooms, a business office, restrooms, kitchen and a worship area. We would like to know if we can put an electric stove in our kitchen? We are subject to the International Building Codes 2006 Edition. We are located in Paulding County, GA. Thank you.

AnswerEdit

I don't see why not. Electric stoves are usually 220 volt so you need to make sure the electrician puts a dedicated 220 V circuit where you need it. The stove can be the only thing on that circuit.

As for the code, the local building department has jurisdiction and will often make amendments to whatever National Code is being used for local conditions. Check with them as well.
