Excel transpose function

Question

i am trying to transpose columns to rows. i key in =transpose(c1:c4) simultaneoulsy press CTRL-SHFT-ENTER and all i get is the first value and not a horizontal version of my column. i have2000 on an XP platform

are you typing that in selecting a 4 columns range ??

before typing in the formula you have to select a range equally sized than the range you want to transpose

For example: if you want that column in D1:G1, you need first to select that range and do exactly as you are doing.
