Excel worksheet protection

When trying to open a workbook with no password protection, I get the message XXXworksheet.99.xls is reserved by Melissa Enter Password for write access, or open read only. My question is, how do I remove this need for the password? I know what it is (008S) but want to remove it.

Remove password protection from anspreadsheet (2007):-

1) Use the password to open the spreadsheet. 2) Click the Microsoft Office Button, point to Prepare, and then click Encrypt Document. 3) In the Encrypt Document dialog box, in the Password box, delete the encrypted password, and then click OK. 4) Save the spreadsheet.
