Fireplace insert hook up

We have a fireplace insert that does have legs to be freestanding. Is there a way to hook it up to the furnace in the garage to use the duckwork to spread the heat?

no you can not, an insert is for use in a fireplace, not free standing, and can not be used use with your furnace and in most towns/cities can not have a wood stove in a garage. they do make wood fired furnaces but you would need a professional to install it and check with your local building department
