Hb36a mfg 2/91 hearilator

I have a 1991 heatilator model HB36A. We bought our house used and I was wondering what the little arm does on the bottom right of the fireplace? Do you know where to get a user manual to? Thank you, Dean in NC

manuals for that particular model are looking for hoffa, impossible. plenty of replacement doors though(lol).

the handle is for air circulation around the fireplace, they dont really work good, at least enought to feel any difference in heat. where ever its set at is probably just as good as anywhere else so if i was you id just leave it and try to forget its there.
