QuestionEdit

I have a Loricron 8140-K chiming wall clock. I took it down to coordinate the time change as I always do twice a year - changed the time and put in new batteries. After placing it back on the wall, it was obvious that the hands were not moving and no chiming BUT the pendulum was swinging properly. Any ideas as to why the hands are not moving? They are not against the face or the glass cover. Thank you, Linda Brucks

AnswerEdit

battery update

My initial instinct is the solution shown in the attached diagram. The wrong battery will produce the symptom you describe, I've seen it many times. If however this doesn't solve the problem, the movement may be old enough to need replacement. Battery movements are replacement tech, you don't repair them, you replace.
