Question

QUESTION: I do not have an owner's manual but the label on the fireplace itself says, "fireplace intended for use with solid wood fuel only." It also says, "When burning gas in the fireplace, adjust the damper to the fully open position." Does this mean I can only use vented gas logs?

ANSWER: I am not a big fan of Vent free gas logs and if that is what the owners manual says then that is what you should do.

QUESTION: I actually don't have an owner's manual. I do know that it is a prefabricated fireplace with a round metal chimney. The inside is not brick but it's metal. I really wanted the ventless because I want to heat my home with it but I just don't know if I can use that. I'm having a really hard time finding info on this fireplace.

Answer

Welcome back Tabitha, you wont get that much heat out of those ventless units. have you looked into a Vent free gas stove? no chimney needed just an out side wall to go through, it looks like a wood stove abut you have glass in front of the flame, very efficient, and I heat a big area with mine here are a few http://www.jotul.com/en-US/wwwjotulus/Main-menu/Products/Gas/Gas-stoves/ I blow a box fan on mine to get more heat out of it. I also found a manual for your unit (I think) but it is very blurry but I think it will work for yours send me your email and I will send it to you
