Natural gas fireplace

Question

my house is 14 years old and only this year there seems to be a fume smell when I burn my fireplace. There also is a slight popping sound every once in a while when I am burning it. Can you help?

not sure what you have there so I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help. It might need a cleaning
