I have a 2000 Chrysler I'm my power steering start out fine, but when i slow down to make a turn my steering gets very hard, once I accelerate it gets easy again. I have Changed to power steering pump twice .
All I can imagine is that the power steering belt is slipping. You didn't say which model/engine you have so I can't look for anyother reason. Tell me about the condition of the belt, might it be glazed/hardened, and what about the belt tension? And of course what is the model/engine(L)? Is the transmission automatic? and if so what is the rpm of the engine when you notice it is hard to steer?
