Question

My wall Regulator (c.1980) was recently oiled and was running fine; suddenly stopped striking. What might have happened and what can I do?

 Other than a spring breaking, I couldn't tell you whats wrong with out seeing the clock. It could just be to the point of needing a overhaul. When clocks are worn and dirty the strike will stop working before the time keeping side does, because it take a lot more power to strike.
