QUESTION: On the brass Royal Mariner

AnswerEdit

Danny, at first I was thinking about the coating, like a lacquer finish. But then I realized you are probably referring to what we call a satin or brushed finish. If you use shop equipment I would practice with some scrap brass and try different wheel materials of abrasives. I have a fiberglass wheel that will put a satin finish on metal, but it works fast and I have to be careful. The other option is to take to a brass refinishing shop and see what they can do.
