QuestionEdit

I live in a cold weather climate. I have a chimney that needs repointed

and do not currently use. I would like to be able to sit on the floor w/o feeling the cold air barreling out. A kitchen brick pizza oven & a living room fireplace share the same space. I have caps on both. Can I use some carpet pad to insulate during the cold winter times? I have ceiling radiant heat and was worried about the moisture from the heat that would be about mid way up. for any info.

AnswerEdit

not sure if they share the same flue if not you could seal off the top of that chimney, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep www.csia.org, (there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to help.
