Similate a typewriter return

How can i make the enter key activate the cell in starting column one row down just like a typewriter return would?

It depends what version ofyou're using. I'll answer for2007.

With yourworkbook open, click the circular Windows icon in the very upper left corner of your screen. From theOptions popup, in the left column, click Advanced. Under Editing Options (the very top of the right column, check the "After pressing Enter, move selection" box. Directly under that checkbox, choose "Down" from the Direction: dropdown.
