I need to replace of of my weight shells and I am having trouble finding it. It measures 23/8 inches by 10 inches. Do you know where I can find this part? I don't need the weight, just the shell for the weight.
John, finding individual weight shells to match existing ones is indeed difficult. We usually refer to the millimeter sizes. The 2-3/8" diameter is fairly standard for grandfather clocks and are listed as 60mm. The varied lengths are usually listed in the 245mm, 270mm, and 280mm sizes, however there are some 254mm available which is the 10" length. The next thing to consider is the finish. They come in polished brass or satin brushed brass finishes, pewter or silver. Some have engraving or decorative bands. If you will contact me at my shop email address below and let me know what you have, I will see if I have something to match. Sometimes it is best to see a photo of what you have if you can send one. Also, if your weights are a little age conditioned, we can find a matching one rather than a new mint condition shell. But let me know what you have and I do have some options we can consider.
