QuestionEdit

My grandfather clock has 3 weights. Just this winding, they are unevenly unwinding, with the center one just way ahead of the other two, which are "even." What can I do to correct this? Time-keeping is accurate. Thanks so much! KAP

AnswerEdit

that indicates the quarter chimes and the hour strike are not operating properly every hour 24 hours a day.

1) there is a "night off" position on a dial lever and it is on

2) the lever is on "silent" position

3)the weights are in the wrong place - the heaviest belongs on the right, next in middle.

4) clock is old, worn and needs service, overhaul or replacement by a pro.
